Why This Country Is Calling For An Atomic Heart Ban

Mundfish, the developer of “Atomic Heart,” has been accused of funding the Russian government, which helps subsidize Russia’s war on Ukraine. Mundfish refuses to discuss the allegations and has purportedly blocked people asking for answers. Now, an entire country is asking for the game to be banned by distributors, both in their own country and abroad.
Alex Bornyakov, the deputy minister of digital transformation in Ukraine, issued a statement to PCGamesN noting that Mundfish has not outrightly condemned Russia's violence against Ukraine, nor has it denied being affiliated with the Russian government itself. Bornyakov then requested for distributors to cease or limit the digital sale of “Atomic Heart” in Ukraine.
Bornyakov also stated he plans to write letters to Sony, Valve, and Microsoft asking for limited sales in other countries; he justifies limiting sales because of the game’s “toxicity, potential data collection of users, and the potential use of money raised from game purchases to conduct a war against Ukraine.” It remains to be seen if the deputy minister's words will have any effect.
