Xenoblade Chronicles 3: How To Unlock Valdi
"Xenoblade Chronicles 3" has arrived, giving fans of the successful RPG series reason to celebrate. So far, first impressions of the game are looking good. Various critics have shared their thoughts on the game, and while a few were irritated by what they consider awkward and repetitive dialogue, most are blown away by the title.
That small note aside, there's not much to complain about in "Xenoblade Chronicles 3." Since the game will likely take most players at least 100 hours to complete, it's good to know that the quality is widely considered as good as preceding titles, if not better.
On such a long journey, a well-crafted party is key. "Xenoblade Chronicles 3" allows for up to seven party members, with one spot set aside specifically for a Hero. While every Hero has something special to offer, many have optional quests. However, there's one hero whose quest is a crucial part of the game, and players will definitely want to unlock him and add him to the party thanks to his abilities. Here's how to unlock War Medic Valdi.
Unlock Valdi by liberating Colony 30
According RPGSite and NintendoLife, unlocking Valdi is part of a mandatory Hero Quest that's woven into Chapter 3 of "Xenoblade Chronicles 3," so it'll unfold fairly naturally. He'll be at Ribbi Flats, and the journey of unlocking him will progress from there as part of the main quest. Players should plan to be patient, as fully unlocking Valdi involves liberating Colony 30 by way of multiple battles and events along the way.
As part of the War Medic class, Valdi will be the most powerful healer players can unlock that early in the game, so he's a key party member. Additionally, once players liberate Colony 30 to unlock Valdi, they'll also get access to the Wall Climbing ability. Clearly, Valdi's value can't be underestimated.
As far as the Hero Quest itself, it first centers around gathering materials for Valdi by completing various challenges, all marked with an exclamation point for easy navigation (via KarpoGaming). The components are combined to make a robot to assist the party in battle, at which point the game provides instruction for how to liberate a Colony – all it takes is destroying the Colony's Flame Clock to free them from the Consul's capture. Unsurprisingly, the Flame Clock is guarded by a giant robot boss, but once that's out of the way, Valdi is fully unlocked along with the Wall Climbing Ability.
