TMNT: Shredder's Revenge: Where To Find All The Punk Frogs

Reviews for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge" are in, and they're looking pretty dang good. Critics are saying that this 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up is a perfect homage to the games that dominated arcades during the franchise's heyday, with just enough modifications to make a smoother gameplay experience. Even better, it's got multiplayer support that allows for up to six players instead of just two — and though the cross-platform feature does have a few limits and caveats, it's looking to be a for series newcomers and veterans alike.

One of the major changes in switching from an arcade game designed to squeeze your wallet and a game you can play at home has been the addition of collectables. There are many different cameos and references to the rest of the franchise hidden throughout the game's 16 levels, one of them being the Punk Frogs. These characters notably featured in the 1980s cartoon series as antagonists-turned-allies, so they're a sight for sore eyes for many fans. Here's how to find all four Punk Frogs — Attila, Genghis, Napoleon, and Rasputin — in "TMNT: Shredder's Revenge."

Busting down the environment

As is the tradition with side-scrollers, there are a lot of breakable objects in the environment that can be slashed for potential goodies. You'll need to bust up a few particular objects in order to find the Punk Frogs:

  • Attila: One of the two blue mailboxes found in Episode 4, just past the toucan on the bench, an enemy eating an popsicle, and a manhole cover with two traffic cones beside it.
  • Genghis: A circular vault door in Episode 5, situated between two sewer platforms and behind a crate with a Foot Clan decal.
  • Napoleon: A Punk Frogs standee sign in Episode 6.
  • Rasputin: A hot dog stand in Episode 9, near the beginning of the level.

The original story for the Punk Frogs had them fighting against the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Shredder's behalf before realizing that they were being manipulated by the supervillain. Unfortunately, they don't appear as either bosses or playable characters in "Shredder's Revenge," but they do offer players a new quest: Finding "disgusting bugs" (per IGN) in exchange for some sweet, sweet experience points.

You can find all of the Punk Frogs now in "TMNT: Shredder's Revenge," which is currently available on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.
