The Cast Of Gotham Knights Is Gorgeous In Real Life
Announced at the 2020 DC FanDome, "Gotham Knights" will be unique among "Batman"-themed games in that the typical star character is already dead before the game begins. The new title is set to release on October 25, 2022. Described by its creators as "an open-world, action RPG set in the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet," "Gotham Knights" offers a blend of familiarity and novelty.
"Gotham Knights" focuses on an ensemble cast instead of honing in on Batman's plotline, meaning the stories of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin will take center stage. Plus, a new two-player co-op mode makes the entry more of a team sport. A recent gameplay demo gave gamers a more in-depth look at some of the additions coming to "Gotham Knights," and there's a lot to be excited about.
Speaking of getting hyped for "Gotham Knights," the star-studded cast is certainly worth celebrating. There's an abundance of talented actors behind the franchise's favorite characters, all of whom are beautiful inside and out. Here's a healthy dose of "Gotham Knights" trivia and, of course, some eye candy.
Batman - Michael Antonakos
Taking on what would typically be the lead role in a "Batman" game is Michael Antonakos. This is the first time the actor has played Batman, and it's clear he's up for the task. Known for gaming roles including Alexios in "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey" and Dr. Yanny Dabalos in "Far Cry 6," Antonakos has strong experience in voice work.
According to his official site, Antonakos moved to Canada as a kid and launched a career that hasn't slowed down since it started when he was only seven. He has a knack for voice work, so much so that when he takes on a new character, fans will hardly recognize him given his gift for vocal shapeshifting. As for his work in front of the camera, Antonakos has shined in roles including Vlad in "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" and Christos in "Odysseus: Voyage to the Underworld" among others.
While he's not exactly active on social media, Antonakos' Instagram and Twitter are a wholesome glimpse into his life outside of acting as a coach, teacher, partner, and father. This gorgeous guy is already doing it all, so adding Batman to his list of accomplishments will be yet another jewel in his crown.
Batgirl - America Young
America Young is the perfect fit for Batgirl. Not only is Young a talented actress – she's also a director, stunt coordinator, and stuntwoman. Though she won't have to swing from skyscrapers as Batgirl since the role is voice only, it seems certain Young's experience in high-intensity action scenarios will bring her character to life. This isn't Young's first time doing voice work for games. She's got credits in two "Saints Row" titles as well as "Dead Space 2" for various voiceover roles, as well as work on 65 total games.
A recipient of the UCSD Humanitarian Award in 2020 for empowering women in film, Young is a prolific and potent force in the industry using her success to support others. She also co-founded The Chimaera Project, a nonprofit offering opportunities to women in media arts and film. In addition to her sweeping success with "The Barbie Vlog" in 2015 that helped rebrand Barbie, Young has many other impressive credits plus her own projects including "The Concessionaires Must Die!!," "Protectress," and "Back to Lyla." It'll be thrilling to see how the stunning star adds her own flair to Batgirl.
Nightwing - Christopher Sean
Christopher Sean brings his wealth of experience to the role of Dick Grayson, AKA Nightwing, and it's clear he's going to knock it out of the park. Though many fans are upset that Nightwing's canonically stacked backside is looking lackluster in "Gotham Knights," they can rest assured that the character's other qualities will be properly captured by this very talented voice actor.
Perhaps best known for roles in "Days of Our Lives" as Paul Narita, "You" as Brandon, and "Star Wars Resistance" as Kazuda Xiono, gamers may most readily recognize Sean from his work in some major game. He played Arokkeh in "Horizon Forbidden West" and voiced various characters for both "Marvel's Avengers" and "Ghost of Tsushima."
Naturally, Sean is looking forward to his role as Nightwing. As he shared with his many fans on Instagram, he's "Honored to dawn the Cowl." And players can rest assured he's also fully behind the cheeky references to his character's butt. With a passion for his work plus a great sense of humor, Sean is a beautiful addition to the incredible "Gotham Knights" cast.
Red Hood - Stephen Oyoung
With all these heroes to gush over, it's refreshing to realize the actor behind the notorious Red Hood is equally crushable. Stephen Oyoung is proving to be a mainstay in the world of video game acting and beyond with roles in everything from "GhostWire: Tokyo" to "Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart" to "The Elder Scrolls Online" and beyond. His part in the "Spider-Man" game as Martin Li, AKA Mister Negative, is particularly noteworthy since embodying the Red Hood will be his second appearance as an antagonist in a major superhero franchise.
If one thing's for sure, it's that Oyoung is a multitalented man. In addition to his work on- and off-screen as an actor, he's also a martial arts expert, former stuntman, and fight coordinator. His action-packed life will certainly add something extra to his role as Red Hood.
Like the other stars on this list, Oyoung is clearly in love with his work, often posting behind-the-scenes shots on his Instagram. Seeing how Oyoung makes the Red Hood his own will be something to look forward to once "Gotham Knights" is out this fall.
