How Long Does It Take To Beat Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong?

Following years of hype and a one-year delay from its original 2021 release date, "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" has finally released across virtually every available platform in gaming. A narrative-focused RPG, "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" is based on the titular tabletop game series and focuses on three different vampires in Boston who not only have to keep their existence hidden from humanity, but must also make conflicting moral choices along the way. Unfortunately, despite being expected to blow people away with its concept, "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" has received a rather lukewarm reception from critics for several reasons pertaining to its gameplay and some elements of its story.

However, that isn't to say that "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" doesn't have an engaging story to keep players interested and help them look past some of the critiques that have been levied towards it. This begs the question — how much content is actually in "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" and is it enough to keep even the most hardcore fan interested? Here's how long it takes to beat it.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong takes roughly 20 hours to complete

"Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" isn't a combat-centric game. As a matter of fact, there is no combat in it whatsoever. Instead, the game serves as a more "choose-em'-up" story-based experience, as Rick Lane of PC Gamer put it. Therefore, you will be spending most of your playtime in "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" choosing dialogue options and walking from point A to point B. But how long will this straightforward gameplay loop take you to complete the game's main story?

According to Alexis Ong of Polygon in her review of the game, "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" took about 19 hours to complete. Game Informer's Andrew Reiner relayed a similar experience and said that it took him 20 hours to finish the game's narrative arc. However, that isn't to say that players can truncate the overall experience that "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" offers. In his review of the game for Digital Trends, Giovanni Colantonio claimed to have completed "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" in a swift 15 hours.

If you are among the players flocking to "Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong" — be it out of curiosity or being a fan of the IP — and only have about 3 hours a day to spare for gaming purposes, expect to complete the game in a little less than a week.
