How To Spot A Fake Wall In Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Other than its novel fantasy setting, "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" isn't a huge departure from the "Borderlands" series' over-arching formula. Almost all of the tropes commonly associated with the "Borderland" franchise as a whole remain firmly in place in Tiny Tina's standalone title, be it the focus on gunplay or its signature brand of humor. But one area that Gearbox Software seems to have begun experimenting in is the game's implementation of more "secret" and obtuse mechanics.

One example of this is "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" cheeky way of mocking players who choose to use a weapon that, in a perfect world, should never even be fired in the first place. After all, who wouldn't want to use a very powerful tool (on paper, at least) that can quickly dispatch enemies? But that isn't the only way Gearbox has tricked players in its latest title. Apparently, illusory walls are also a part of the equation.

So before you stumble around looking for the correct path to some highly valuable loot, here's how you can easily spot fake walls in "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands".

Fake walls are marked by gold particles

In a write-up for Polygon, Mike Mahardy tells quite a humorous story about being confused as to where to go while searching for collectibles during a section in "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands," only to discover a prompt to use the melee button while close to a wall. Mahardy then frantically smacked the wall until the illusory wall gave way, granting him access to the next area. This isn't too dissimilar to how "Elden Ring" incorporates fake walls that players must forcibly breach in order to reach the other side. As funny and entertaining a story this is, discovering fake walls in "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" isn't nearly as complicated or difficult as it's made out to be.

Instead, a fake wall in the game is rather easy to spot — if you're looking for it. And now that Mahardy has told people about these walls, others are putting together how to easily find them. According to Chris Jecks of Twinfinite, any and all illusory walls in "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" are marked by the presence of gold particles hovering around it. This aspect was also noted in the comment section of the aforementioned Polygon article by commenters who tested Mahardy's discovery.

So if you're looking for some of the valuable goodies that "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" has to offer, out-of-place gold particles are a good place to start.
