Never Fire This Weapon In Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
As the latest entry into the long-running and beloved "Borderlands" franchise, the spin-off "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" has been a predictable hit for the most faithful fans of the series and has also garnered its fair share of critical acclaim, as well. Focusing on the controversial titular character, "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" sees the unstable 13-year-old demolition expert trying to take out the villainous Dragon Lord. In true "Borderlands" fashion, players will be given all sorts of destructive firepower in aiding Tiny Tina on her and the Queen Butt Stallion's quest.
Try not to get too ahead of yourself, though. While "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" boasts enough weaponry and firepower to destroy the entire world several times over, the in-game mechanics and economy urge you to show just the slightest amount of pause before engaging in all-out warfare with your enemies. This type of mechanic isn't openly broadcasted to the player, either, and is instead hinted at in fine print. One such example is the Aphotic Antique Greatbow, a weapon that players really, really shouldn't use if they want to extract the maximum amount of benefits out of it. Here's why.
Shooting the Aphotic Antique Greatbow just once nerfs its power and value
On paper, the Aphotic Antique Greatbow would seem like a great find in any game, as it is both a rare Legendary weapon, and an insanely powerful sniper rifle. When picked up, the Aphotic Antique Greatbow's stats start off with a damage rate of 2206 and a value of over 41,000. When Reddit user u/nmpo picked it up, it can only be assumed they thought their time in combat just got a whole lot easier. Unfortunately, that couldn't be anywhere further from the truth.
Unbeknownst to u/nmpo, the Aphotic Antique Greatbow's description quite literally comes with a disclaimer that the weapon will be more valuable in the in-game marketplace should players show some restraint and not use it. The Redditor didn't notice this, used the weapon, and immediately, the Antique Greatbow's "Aphotic" descriptor was replaced with "Used" and the weapon's damage and value tanked to just 226 and 8,332 respectively. Posting this discovery to the "Borderlands" subreddit, u/nmpo was flooded with comments of both the sympathetic and schadenfreude variety, with other comments describing the weapon as a mere "stat stick."
If you are playing "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" and came across this Legendary weapon, it's probably best to just sell it for value. After all, what good is a sniper rifle that is only powerful upon first use and relatively pedestrian afterward?
