Anime and manga fans who were tuning into Sony's PlayStation State of Play on the evening of March 9th were in for a special treat. During the event, with a specific focus on presenting new titles from Japanese publishers, an iconic and familiar face (or faces) greeted viewers with lots of "ORA, ORA, ORA!" BANDAI NAMCO announced a current-gen remaster of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle," titled "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R."

Fans might remember "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R" on PlayStation 4 — but that was the first time BANDAI NAMCO remastered the original "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle," which debuted on the PlayStation 3. While the English version of the original title still demands an unexpected investment from collectors, each subsequent remaster has seen the addition of new characters to the roster — and the newest "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R" is no different. Featuring the largest roster out of any "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" fighting game and reacquainting fans with the stylish and fun combatants. Is There A Trailer For JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R?

"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R" was announced during the PlayStation State of Play alongside a reveal trailer. Longtime "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" fans likely knew immediately what was in store, as the trailer opened with a view of the iconic jail holding Jolyne Kujo during the "Stone Ocean" arc, along with a trailing line of the kanji for the Japanese onomatopoeia that translates to "menacing." From there, the Japanese voice actor for Jolyne in the animated series says, "Man, give me a damn break..."

The trailer then cuts to a montage of all the different characters players will see in the upcoming title jumping right into the action and showing off some of the intense action. Among the many returning faces, players can expect at least nine new characters to join the mayhem, and as the trailer hinted, several characters will see voicework from the actors that depicted them in the animated series.

"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" fans will have plenty to enjoy when "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R" releases. In addition to bolstering the lineup of playable characters in the game, BANDAI NAMCO announced the title would introduce several changes and quality of life upgrades. The biggest news is that players will now be able to take part in tag-team battle ala an all-new "Support Attack" feature.

On top of bringing a partner into the fray, the 2013 battle system will see a number of other improvements like the addition of hit-stops, dashes, and new combos for new and returning players to master. Of course, players will also have a selection of new fighters to also play around with and learn. The title will feature a total of five playable modes and an additional Gallery Mode where fans can view unlocked art and collectibles.

Is There A Release Date For JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R?

While no specific release date was given following the reveal of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R," the trailer did end with a promise that the title would be available sometime in early fall of 2022. Many fans likely hoped for something more tangible to look forward to, but the great majority of interested players are just grateful the title is making the jump to current-gen platforms.

Celebrating the announcement via a post on Twitter, one user commented, "NEW JOJO'S BIZZARE ADVENTURE GAME FOR THE PS4 AND PS5 LET'S GO US JOJO'D FANS ARE EATING TODAY!!!" Another like-minded user shared their own post, saying, "The #StateOfPlay was pretty mid but atleast we got JoJo's Bizzare Adventure All Star Battle R!! Actually the most hype announcement."

"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" fans are in a state of euphoria. Not only will one of the better fighting games incorporating the beloved franchise see a return to the spotlight, but it'll be the most complete version of the game to date. Now, all that's left is for fans to exercise patience as they wait for the new fighting game — and the expected wackiness series creator Hirohiko Araki has become known for.
