Every Zeri Move In League Of Legends Explained
"League of Legends" is adding another champion. Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, is set to be the first new character of 2022. She will be added to the game's considerable roster when the 12.2 patch drops on January 19, 2021, adding her electric personality to the lineup.
Zeri's dedicated page on the official "League of Legends" website lists her as a Marksman, but you may be able to tell that from the fact that she carries a gun — which she uses to harness her numerous electricity-based abilities and aim them right at opponents. She's local to the city of Zaun, one of the two cities featured in the critically acclaimed Netflix series "Arcane," so this brand new champion may become a popular choice among players if she ends up being one of the characters fans see in season 2 of the series. You can get a quick peek of Zeri in action her new cinematic trailer, but you may be more curious to learn what kind of damage she can do in battle.
At the end of the day, "League of Legends" is all about tactics. Players who might be interested in potentially playing as Zeri are probably going to want to know a little bit about her move set. Luckily, Riot Games has provided a helpful rundown of her moves. Here's what Zeri can do, as well as how players are responding to her exciting abilities.
Zeri's got moves
Zeri's passive is called Living Battery. She gains Move Speed whenever she receives a shield and absorbs the energy from shields that she damages, replenishing her own. While that sounds pretty great, some people have been quick to poke holes in this ability. Reddit user Ilanf2 pointed out that using this ability "depends on either having an ally shield her (or using Barrier) or being against a champion that can shield." Another user countered, "odds are pretty much 100% someone and probably multiple people on the enemy team will have shields for her to strip."
YouTuber SkinSpotlights has posted a video of Zeri's new abilities, allowing fans to see her shield-stripping powers in effect. As it turns out, fans who have seen Zeri in action seem much more enthusiastic about Living Battery, with some saying she could be the biggest fear of anyone who makes heavy use of shields in battle.
Her Q move is called Burst of Fire. According to Riot, this basic attack "deals magic damage, scales with AP, and is treated as an ability. Moving and casting Burst Fire stores up energy in Zeri's Sparkpack. When fully charged, her next basic attack will slow and deal bonus damage." This continues an exciting trend with Zeri's abilities, speeding her up while slowing down all enemies. Using Burst of Fire as an active move shoots a burst of 7 rounds that deal physical damage. In other words, clever Zeri players may be able to bombard opponents before they know what hit them.
Zeri's specials are electric
Zeri's main abilities aren't the only impressive ones, however, as her specials appear to be fairly powerful. Her W move is Ultrashock Laser. According to Riot, "Zeri fires an electric pulse that slows and damages the first enemy hit. If the pulse hits a wall it fires a long range laser from the point of impact." Once again, this seems considerably useful when combined with her speed. Viewers can also see the wall-beam hitting multiple targets in a clip shared by SkinSpotlights.
Next up is Zeri's E move, which is called Spark Surge. This allows Zeri to dash a short distance and refills three casts of her Burst Fire ability. It also allows her to vault over or grind along terrain, which is convenient for putting barriers between Zeri and her enemies (and also just looks super cool). Hitting another champion with Spark Surge also lowers its cooldown.
Finally, Zeri's R move is called Lightning Crash. It "discharges a nova of electricity, damaging nearby enemies, and overcharges herself for a moderate duration. While overcharged, Zeri gains increased damage, Attack Speed, and Move Speed. Attacking enemy champions refreshes the overcharge duration and adds another stack of Move Speed." Overcharging it also makes it into a lightning chaining triple shot, making this move a solid ace for Zeri to keep up her sleeve, just in case she ever gets pinned down.
With so many great moves at Zeri's command, expert "League of Legends" players are going to have quite a time coming up with different strategies to bring out the champion's full potential.
