xQc And Adept Have The Rumor Mill Turning
Relationships between streamers always prompt speculation from fans, and the romantic status between xQc and longtime "roommate" Adept has been no exception. While the pair tried to get ahead of some of the questions aimed their way after their recent breakup, even the statements they made to try and clear up the matter seem to have stirred up even more rumors.
Fans got their first hint that something was up when viewers asked xQc during an "Apex Legends" Twitch stream why they hadn't seen Adept recently, to which xQc responded by referring to her by her real name: "Sammy left. I don't want to talk about it much right now. Me and Sammy got into a little bit of a fight."
That piece of information was enough to make fans curious, prompting xQc to elaborate on Twitter, stating, "Me and Sammy are apart. Please make an effort not to speculate and prod for answers. Most importantly, do not harass @adeptthebest, she will always have my respect."
The straightforward admission from the streamer regarding the split, which seemed slightly out of character for the controversial and occasionally shady xQc, led to a Twitter response from Adept, who wrote, "I live with a clear conscious [sic] knowing the whole truth about who I am and what I've experienced ... The external noise can get real loud but it's really just noise at the end of the day."
While her followers are certainly glad to have Adept weigh in, this post prompted some intense conjecture from fans, which the two have been dealing with ever since.
xQc and Adept's tumultuous relationship led some fans to think the worst
When Adept posted about her perspective on the split to Twitter, it sparked speculation from users on Reddit that the tweet may have been an indication of more serious troubles. Some even went so far as to wonder if there may have been an abusive dynamic in the relationship, but when those rumors got back to Adept, quickly shut them down.
In a follow-up tweet, Adept said, "Apparently people are trying to use this tweet as an implication that Felix physically abused me in some way. That's not okay. I will make it clear that didn't happen and anyone accusing him of that will be blocked/reported." Adept continued to explain that her original Tweet was made to salvage any privacy she could while dealing with an intensely personal matter.
While privacy is a reasonable request from anyone going through a breakup, much of xQc and Adept's relationship has developed in a public forum, and a level of interest from viewers was not unexpected. Fans wondered what the exact nature of their relationship was for years before Adept finally announced that they were dating each other on Twitter following some telling displays of affection caught on Twitch.
However, just as the couple accidentally revealed their relationship while streaming, fans also got hints that there may have been issues when they accidentally sent an argument out on a live feed. At the very least, the former couple seems to be keeping things civil through their official channels.
