The Untold Truth Of Chandler From MrBeast's Crew
If you're a MrBeast fan, you know Chandler — he's the member of MrBeast's crew who failed second grade during the "I Went Back To 1st Grade" challenge, ate all the food and water during a 24-hour survival trip into the desert so that the group had to leave camp and search for sustenance, and just got tired and left while building the world's largest LEGO tower. The 22-year-old is known for his childlike nature, expressiveness, and lack of knowledge regarding simple chores like cooking — during the "Last to Take Hand Off $1,000,000 Keeps It" challenge, he cooked his contestant a delicious dish of microwaved cheese atop frozen Goldfish crackers.
Of course, it's all this that makes him such a fun person to watch on MrBeast's over-the-top videos, whether they're giving away huge amounts of cash, money, and cars or participating in unusual stunts that would drive most people to despair. There's a reason that MrBeast has more than 50 million YouTube subscribers at this point, after all. But what is the untold truth of Chandler Hallow? Read more to find out.
Chandler was MrBeast's shy janitor before he became part of the crew
Although he's one of MrBeast's regular crew these days, Chandler's association with MrBeast did not start with that intent. In fact, he was hired as MrBeast's janitor before he started wowing fans online. He told Newsweek that he knew a co-worker of Mr. Beast's and played baseball with them, which led to a summer job.
During a video on Kwebbelkop's YouTube channel during which he reacted to his past exploits, MrBeast talked of Chandler's original appearances on the show.
"We brought him on to just clean and stuff like that. Yeah, seriously. And he was very shy, like super-shy," MrBeast said. "He was so terrified to even talk to me, and then one video he just like got in it at a little part. Yeah, people really liked him. ... And so then he was in one video, and then he was in another video, and Chandler starts popping up in more and more videos and people are like, 'We like Chandler, we like Chandler.'"
The rest, clearly, is history. It's hard to imagine MrBeast's crew without him.
He and his girlfriend, Cara Davis, have been dating for more than a year
Although Chandler told Newsweek that he "[doesn't] really have much of a personal life" because he's always hanging out with the MrBeast crew (even creating a pod during the COVID-19 pandemic), he does have a steady girlfriend. If you go sneaking around on Chandler's Instagram, you'll see a picture he took in mid-2020 with Cara Davis, a student at East Carolina University, in what looks to be at least semi-formal wear for a wedding. She also shared an image from the same event on her Instagram. She also posted a one-year anniversary image with him from Jan. 6, 2021, which she captioned, "happy 1 year my love. very thankful for you." He responded with "Happy 1 year I love you."
So it's official — their relationship looks like it's a long-term commitment. This appears to be sad news for many of Chandler's female fans, whose comments on his picture included one from user @nikkiplnc: "Me pretending I didn't see this."
..Which doesn't stop the erotic fan fiction that's popped up about him
As it turns out, Chandler is the subject of a number of fan fiction stories on Wattpad. Of course, several of MrBeast's crew, and MrBeast himself, are often subjects in these tales as well, but Chandler appears to be a very popular romantic protagonist. Some tales are smutty, others less so. Some stories are done from the point of view of the reader. And some fans ship members of MrBeast's crew with one another. With fan fiction, pretty much anything goes, and you'll find all kinds of tastes involved.
It's not surprising that a channel with the amount of fans that MrBeast has, featuring young men doing crazy stunts and being philanthropic in extravagant ways, has fueled the imaginations of fan writers. And Chandler, with his slight immaturity and penchant for losing challenges, along with his celebrity and supposed net worth (he did have to sell that $800,000 island he won, which possibly got him some profit, and his earning power seems high if he keeps hanging with the very generous-appearing MrBeast) may seem quite appealing to some single fans.
He's a fan of American rapper Lil Uzi Vert, but the feeling isn't necessarily mutual
Chandler can get pretty random on his Twitter, asking questions about the tooth fairy, mentioning Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and wondering about fans' bedtimes, but he's posted multiple times about Lil Uzi Vert, the rapper, singer, and songwriter with the futuristic trap sound. He has both retweeted the musician and tried to get his attention. In late 2019, the MrBeast star posted an image showing he'd listened to Lil Uzi Vert's music for 95 hours and wished for more.
Then there's this post from MrBeast himself in February 2020, tagging Lil Uzi Vert: "My buddy @ChandlerHallow loves you more than life. He is constantly talking about you and it would be amazing if you just said 'hi' to him," the tweet reads. Unfortunately, the musician does not appear to have responded to Chandler's tweets so far, so Chandler is out of luck, for now.
