Here's How To Join A Crew In GTA Online
Grand Theft Auto 5 has quite the hearty story campaign, full of twists, turns, and opportunities to steal cars and shoot bad guys. The thing is, all of that has been available since 2013, yet GTA 5 is still a force to be reckoned with. What is keeping GTA 5 popular after all these years? How does it continue to sell so well despite being out for most of a decade? The answer may be GTA Online, which serves as the online multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto 5.
GTA Online is a sort of action MMO set in the world of Grand Theft Auto 5. And as is true with most MMOs, you'll likely have a much better time playing with a group of like-minded individuals versus doing things solo. GTA Online allows you to join what is called a "crew" — the Grand Theft Auto equivalent of a clan. Below, you'll learn how you can join a crew in GTA Online or — if you're looking to run the show — start up a crew of your very own.
Join an existing crew
Joining a crew in GTA Online is a fairly straightforward process, and Rockstar gives you two different ways to do it. You can join a crew while playing GTA Online, which shouldn't come as the biggest surprise in the world. But Rockstar also lets you find and join a crew from a website, which means you can seek out some new friends anywhere you have a web browser and an internet connection.
According to Game Rant, you'll need to pause the game and visit the "Online" tab in the pause menu. After that, choose the "Crews" option and then browse through all of the crews available. You can also be invited to a crew by someone, perhaps a friend who is a member already. If you plan on joining a crew that way, you'll want to look at the "Invitations" tab on that same screen. Keep in mind that not every crew may be open to everyone, but a lot of them likely are.
You can also search for crews to join on the Rockstar website, by the way. Just make sure you're logged into your Rockstar Social Club account.
Make a crew of your own
Some people aren't keen on taking orders. Some want to lead. Some want to skip the "working your way up" part and go straight to sitting on the throne. If that sounds like you, then the thought of joining someone else's crew in GTA Online might not be all that appealing. You might be a lot happier trying to kick-start a crew of your own, which you can then fill with your friends and other crew-less players.
To create a crew, you'll need to visit the Rockstar Social Club website. Make sure you're logged into your account, and from there, hover over the "Crews" tab and click "My Crews." On the next page, click the "Create a Crew" button and wait for the next screen to load. Once it does, you can customize your crew to your heart's desire. Name it. Come up with a crew motto. Figure out how you'll title your crew's various ranks. Once you're finished, click "Save this Crew," and get to recruiting your team of merry bandits.
