You Can Now Get Official Pokemon-Themed Glasses
Here's some good news for Pokemon fans who number themselves among the visually impaired. JINS, an eyewear company based in Japan, has an online store that sells prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses in a variety of styles. And it has just launched their new line of exclusive Pokemon models for sale.
These styles aren't your everyday, basic design that just slaps on a logo and offers a few different color options. JINS went above and beyond creating some very intricate details among four different models to choose from: Flagship, Johto, Kanto, and Kids. Each of those has several variant models available.
The Pikachu model offers wire-framed glasses with an earpiece tip designed to look like Pikachu's tail, as well as an etched Pikachu icon and a Pokemon logo. The Snorlax frames are thicker and are offered in a variety of colors with the tips designed like Snorlax's paws — and also with the Snorlax and Pokemon icons etched on the side. The Pikachu and Snorlax designs are among the variants of JINS' Flagship model, which also include Eevee and Mew designs.
In the Johto region, you can purchase designs based on Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Lugia, and Ho-oh. For those who are lovers of all Pokemon equally, the company will soon have models up in the Kanto region which are designed with etches of multiple species, including Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu, as well as etched Pokeballs.
Of course, one does not simply buy a pair of designer glasses without hitting up the accessories, too. Each pair of JINS Pokemon-model eyeglasses comes with an exclusive case, cleaning cloth, and sticker, all carrying the Pokemon design. The styles of accessories change within the various models, depending on the region.
Kids can get in on the action, too, as JINS offers a line of Pokemon designs inspired by the animated series. There are only a few options at the moment, but the company does offer two different Pikachu models, as well as designs for Eevee and Mew. There are accessories for the kids' glasses as well, with a Pokeball-style case, cleaning cloth, and character sticker.
The eyewear models run $100 for the kids and up to $140 for adults (with accessories included), and that's a small price to pay to show one's love one for the world's biggest fandoms. All of these models are on sale now and can be found on the JINS website.
