These Are The Rarest Mounts In World Of Warcraft
World of Warcraft has been around for a long time, and so much content has been pumped into the game with each added expansion. 2020's major expansion, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, has brought even more content to the world of Azeroth. That includes new maps, new lore, and most importantly, new mounts.
Mounts are creatures and machines that can be ridden in the game, and they have a special place in World of Warcraft. Some of them can be picked up at any point and others are reserved for end game content. There are hundreds of mounts available in World of Warcraft but some are very expensive, some are a huge time-sink, and some are no longer available. World of Warcraft: Shadowlands introduced (at least) 80 brand new mounts to the game and it will surely be enough to keep collectors preoccupied.
For collectors who want the extremely rare mounts, these are some of the rarest of them all.
Swift Spectral Tiger
The Swift Spectral Tiger is one of the most difficult mounts to come by in World of Warcraft. To start, the mount is not available in the game, and the chances of finding it in an auction house are most likely nonexistent.
The summon for this mount, Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger, was obtainable through pulling a special Spectral Tiger loot card in the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. TCG loot cards were only available in booster packs and treasure packs. The cards provided a unique code that would be used on Blizzard's promotional code retrieval center website to obtain the rewards. This particular loot card was extremely rare, with some speculating that the odds of pulling it were 1 in 7,260.
These days, Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger can be found on eBay, and it is not exactly cheap, and hefty price tag is enough to scare away any player. If a collector seriously needs this mount, then they'd better watch the auction house like a hawk.
Magic Rooster
The Magic Rooster is in a similar position as the Swift Spectral Tiger. The Magic Rooster mount is also only obtainable through the Trading Card Game booster packs. The El Pollo Grande card contained a Magic Rooster Egg redemption code and was part of the Fields of Honor expansion — way back in June of 2009. Since then, the amount of booster packs available has dwindled, and securing an unscratched card to obtain the Magic Rooster mount is difficult. According to WoW TCG Loot, the chances of obtaining the card from a booster pack are about 1/264.
There is good news. Unlike the Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger, the card containing the Magic Rooster Egg code sells for much less. The El Pollo Grande card can currently be obtained for a moderate $2895 from the WoW TCG Loot. It was also been listed for a similar price on eBay. Players who want to try their chances with a booster pack box can purchase one starting at around $249.99.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
