Things You Should Do After You Beat Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
The Assassin's Creed series has always been thorough when it comes to keeping players busy, and Valhalla is no exception. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has a rich, branching storyline which players can reportedly expect to take up to 80 hours to complete. So once Eivor has established their new home, built up alliances throughout England, and taken down the Order, what's next? Don't fret — even after the main storyline is done, the adventure doesn't end there. After all, Eivor is a Viking ... it's not like they plan on settling down for a nice, quiet retirement.
There is no shortage of things to do in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. Besides looking for Easter eggs, that is, and there are a lot of them — including those that pay homage to Harry Potter and Dungeons and Dragons. The game brings back a few side quests from previous games, although there are plenty of new things to do as well. For fans who aren't ready to say goodbye to Eivor, or who are looking to get that 100% completion, here are some of the things you can do once you've beaten the main stories of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.
Complete Mysteries
In the place of side quests, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has Mysteries. Among the Mysteries are World Events, which usually involve interactions with some very interesting characters. While in Norway, Eivor will come across a sleep-walking Viking and can follow him to see where he goes. In Wycham, Eivor can meet a man with an axe in his head who is still miraculously alive. You can also play matchmaker for a woman in Essexe by "kidnapping" her betrothed, with some hilarious results. There are a number of darker events as well, such as a confrontation with a murderous nun and a madman who killed his wife in a very Poe-esque fashion.
There are plenty of other Mysteries to complete as well. Solve Standing Stone puzzles, build Cairns, and take on duels with the Lost Drengr. Take a "trip" by consuming Fly Agaric mushrooms. Players can make sacrifices to the gods on Offering Altars, or hunt down the bloodthirsty Daughters of Lerion. Plus there are Legendary Hunts to complete, for those who are up to the challenge.
Take in the scenery
One thing that the Assassin's Creed series offers is a chance to see the world. There are some stunning views in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla as well, if you take the time to really explore the landscape.
Some parts of England might be a sprawling metropolis today, but since Assassin's Creed: Valhalla takes place in the ninth century, players can take in large stretches of uninhabited countryside like they've never seen before. The White Cliffs of Dover are breathtaking, and there is a fantastic view of the rolling hills and greenery from just about any travel point location you find.
One section of the game has Eivor traveling to a place called Vinland, which history buffs may know as the area of North America first discovered by Leif Erikson. This area is the player's chance to see what this land may have looked like before it was taken over by settlers in the days of Columbus. Towering cliffs, vast forests, and flowing rivers are just a few of the gorgeous sights to explore. Eivor can return to Vinland anytime after the area's storyline is finished, and it's definitely worth checking out.
Mini-games galore!
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has plenty of fun and relaxing mini-games to take part in between raids and securing alliances with Saxon leaders. Some can only be accessed when you unlock areas in the settlement, and they are a nice break from bloody battles and diplomacy.
Orlog is a one-on-one dice game available to play in various parts of the world. Evior can challenge an NPC in almost any big settlement. It might take a few tries to get used to the rules, but once you have it down, it can be an entertaining and addicting distraction. Flyting tests Eivor's skills of rhythm and rhyme, as various characters challenge them to trade banter and insults in the form of poetic stanzas. Players can also chug down horns of ale frat-boy-style in drinking competitions.
Hunting and fishing are also available pastimes, although first you need to unlock the Hunter's Hut and Fishing Hut in Ravensthorpe. The Hunter's Hut offers Legendary Hunts for players who are up to the challenge of taking on boss-fight level battles against formidable fauna. Bringing back trophies from your kills is also rewarded by Wallace, the huntsman.
