80-Year-Old Skyrim Fan Posts 300th YouTube Video
Shirley Curry, the 80-year-old gaming grandmother who posts Let's Play videos ofThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has reached the 300th upload milestone on YouTube.
Her channel, which is simply called Shirley Curry, primarily features videos of her adventures in Skyrim and a smattering of videos of ARK: Survival Evolved, and has 301 videos available for view at the time of this writing. Her milestone video coincides with the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, which means that she's started up a whole new vlog series that will feature her journey into the revamped world of Skyrim.
In the 300th video, the gaming grandma shows off her shiny Silver Play button. According to Kotaku, YouTube gives these buttons out to channels that have more than 100,000 viewers. And given her zeal for gaming and the fact that she warmly calls her fans her "grandkids," it's not hard to see why Curry's become so popular. She also shows us that she's very much like other Skyrim fans and, in another video, flexes at a Whiterun Guard who says, "If you disrespect the law, you disrespect me." She retorts with, "Oh, hush. I could just lop your head off... if I wanted to." That's one tough-as-nails grandma.
Check out the rest of the videos on her channel to see just how good she is at adventuring around the frozen land of Skyrim. Who knows, maybe after some time, the gaming grandma will become just as big as other YouTube Let's Players like PewDiePie.
