How To Get The Kratos Skin In Fortnite Season 5
Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 5 is one of the most notable updates to the game yet. It includes new features that let particularly skilled (and lucky) gamers earn powerful weapons and AI allies, and it also introduces new skins such as Mando from The Mandalorian. But forget about all that because God of War's Kratos is now a skin in the game.
Kratos is a first for Fortnite because, unlike other guest characters, he isn't just a publicly recognized pop culture icon. Kratos is a PlayStation mascot. Fortnite is available on multiple platforms, but Kratos has only ever made a home on one of them. To call his inclusion a momentous occasion would be an understatement.
However, since Kratos is such a household gamer name, you probably want to know how to unlock the skin. After all, the man waged a war against the entire pantheon of Greek gods and monsters and lived to tell about it — despite dying at least twice. Surely using him as a digital avatar would bring you luck in a battle royale against mere mortals, right?
It's as easy as one ... two ... that will be $33, please
Some skins in Fortnite are battle pass rewards, while others are locked behind simple quests. Kratos is not one of these skins. In order to earn the right to deck your Fortnite character out as the Ghost of Sparta, you will have to complete the Herculean feat of emptying a sizable portion of your wallet into the in-game store.
Kratos is an item shop exclusive. You can buy him and his equipment (a Leviathan Axe pickaxe skin with a built-in emote, a Guardian Shield glider, and a Mimir head back bling) either piecemeal or together in a bundle. If you want the entire set, you will need to spend around 3,300 v-bucks (about $33), unless you can snag it during a sale. But, none of the items are limited to the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Once you buy the skin, you can play as Kratos on the PC, Xbox, Switch, and mobile versions of Fortnite, which is as awesome as it sounds.
However, while the Kratos skin isn't exclusive to Fortnite on the PlayStation, a special armored variant is locked behind playing the game on the PS5. You don't have to buy the Kratos skin through the console, just play a match on it.
