How Long Does It Take To Beat Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind?
Though the franchise has seen multiple spinoffs and side stories, it took fourteen long years from the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 before we got 3. Kingdom Hearts 3 brought the original saga to a close, but there were still plenty of unanswered questions. Naturally, this meant news of a DLC that expanded upon KH3's story was met with a great deal of excitement.
You may have even been so excited that it never occurred to you to wonder: How long does it take to beat Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind?
As to be expected, Re:Mind doesn't run terribly long, considering it is a DLC chapter. However, it is definitely shorter than you may have expected. According to a review by The Gamer's Eric Switzer, the whole thing runs about around 4 or 5 hours in length, but there's a catch.
Since Re:Mind functions as sort of an expansion on KH3's original ending, there's quite a lot of Re:Mind that is repeated from KH3's campaign, including lengthy amounts of cutscenes. As Switzer writes in his review, "There are about two hours of cutscenes in the four hours of "new" content, and I believe about an hour of those cutscenes are new."
In other words, Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind acts as a bit of a do-over for KH3's last act, making the new material feel fewer and farther between. Even with the new Limit Cut boss-rush mode, you're only looking at around 3 to 4 hours of play.
When considering the DLC's $30 price tag, some fans have felt that it's not quite worth the investment, if not downright disappointing. Others have felt that the game finally fulfilled their expectations of the original KH3.
Now that you know how long it'll take for you to complete Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind, you may decide for yourself if you want to check it out. However, it seems like this one is geared mostly toward the hardcore fans.
