The Game Awards 2019 Will Show Off 'Around 10' New Games

It wouldn't be December without all the game of the year buzz in the air, and Geoff Keighley's Game Awards certainly have become a part of that end-of-year tradition. Ahead of 2019's award show, Keighley himself took to Reddit to answer the burning questions community members have. Perhaps one of the biggest questions asked was about how many big reveals we should expect during the show. Keighley's answer didn't really mince words.

"We have a bunch of brand new games being announced at the show — I think there are around 10 new games/projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet," he saidhe said. "As always the Internet has a lot of really bad information out there about what you think is at the show...but it sure is fun to read."

It's an exciting time to look forward to 2020, as the first half of the calendar is pretty filled in with heavy hitters like Cyberpunk 2077, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Hopefully The Game Awards will give us more to look forward to in the summer and beyond.

Aside from these exciting mystery announcements, we expect Dec. 12 to be an interesting night for gaming. The Game Awards are pretty stacked this year, with high-profile titles like Death Stranding, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Resident Evil 2 vying for the glory.

Keighley predicts the show will run for around two and a half hours, so be prepared to grab your popcorn and get comfy. The theme this year is "Games Come Alive," and the show will feature live performances from Chvrches and Green Day.
