Marco van Basten, legendary soccer player from the Netherlands, has been removed from FIFA 20. This decision came swiftly after van Basten said "Sieg Heil" on the air. Now when you play FIFA Ultimate Team Draft, you won't be able to pull van Basten's card at all. He also won't be in any Squad Building Challenges. In fact, you when you boot up FUT, EA greets you with a statement concerning van Basten's removal from the game.

"We are aware of the recent comments made by Marco van Basten. We have an expectation that our commitment to quality and diversity is upheld across our game. As such, we will suspend Marco van Basten icon items from being available in Packs, SBCs and FUT Draft until further notice," it reads.

Regarding the incident, van Basten defended himself, claiming that the comment he made was in jest. He said it while he was off camera, but the microphones were still hot, so we all could hear it. He was mocking the German accent of Heracles manager Frank Wormuth, but nonetheless, it comes off as a joke made in poor taste.
