Star Wars Battlefront 2 Mod Lets You Become The Mandalorian
Everyone seems to be raving about the Disney+ hit, The Mandalorian. But how are we supposed to get our Star Wars fix in between episodes? Modders have made it so that you, dear player, can don the iconic helmet and become the titular Mandalorian in Star Wars Battlefront 2.
There was, of course, always a Mandalorian in the game, just not the Mandalorian. Modders Claymaver2000 and Savager34 retextured Boba Fett's character model in order to create an accurate representation of the stoic-yet-nameless Mandalorian from the new show. Notably, they stripped the character of his jetpack, because Mando has yet to get one of his own. However, the jetpack is still functional despite its apparent invisibility. For this cosmetic change, Claymaver2000 and Savager34 replaced the jetpack with Mando's rifle, which will not be vaporizing anyone anytime soon in-game. Like we said, these are just cosmetic changes.
What comes as more of a challenge is adding the Mandalorian's best buddy, Baby Yoda, into the game. Modder Nanobuds posted to Reddit that they are currently working on making a younger, less wrinkly Yoda for Star Wars Battlefront 2. Reworking the Yoda character model is a might bit more demanding than sprucing up Boba Fett. Nevertheless, fans of the show are cheering these modders on as they work to bring new fan favorite characters into the game. It is, after all, hugely unlikely that we'll be seeing a Battlefront 3 anytime soon.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 isn't the only game getting Mandalorian-based mods. Just today we reported that a Minecraft modder has been hard at work creating a Baby Yoda companion that can lift up enemies using the Force and — believe it or not — drink soup. Just like the real thing! None of these mods are available just yet, but when they are, don't be surprised if you see still more Baby Yoda memes zipping around the internet.
