Dream Vs. TommyInnit Keeps Getting More Embarrassing
From offensive memes and leaked DMs to getting someone's mom involved, two of the internet's biggest "Minecraft" streamers have been feuding for days — and it's not because they are arguing about Notch's "Minecraft 2" announcement. Dream and TommyInnit have been fighting again — worse than ever, some might say — and some of what's come out from this latest battle is pretty embarrassing.
Oddly enough, this all started because TommyInnit and xQc were taking potshots at each other on social media. On January 10, TommyInnit called xQc "cringe" for hanging out with Donald Trump during an Adin Ross stream from 2024. xQc fired back by basically making fun of TommyInnit's career shift from Dream SMP streamer to stand-up comic. Neither content creator addressed Dream directly, but the masked streamer jumped into the fray by quoting xQc's post with a meme calling TommyInnit fans the R-slur.
Fans of either streamer will know that TommyInnit and Dream were once friends on the Dream SMP Minecraft server, but they haven't been on great terms for quite some time. Dream's since-deleted quote tweet re-opened the floodgates to their longstanding feud, and fans have been shocked by each new reveal since then. Both of them have since explained their sides in livestreams and social media posts, and none of it has been pretty.
Dream has a lot to say on the matter
Dream realized pretty quickly that people weren't amused by the meme he shared that targeted TommyInnit fans. He deleted the post, then went to Reddit a lengthy explanation about his reasoning for sharing the meme. Though he's also deleted that post, folks have been sharing screenshots of the message online.
Dream pointed out in his post that he's on the autism spectrum, and noted, "multiple people go viral calling me the r word and everyone explains that it's okay because they're neurodivergent ... the double standards are infuriating." Dream claimed that he didn't mean to lump all of the Dream SMP fans together, and claimed to have learned his lesson. However, he also explained, "It was a dig at Tommy fans because somehow the worst of the worst of the ex Dream SMP stans have congregated all to make up lies and s*** on other creators, and Tommy feeds right into it." Dream's explanation didn't stop there, and on January 12, he went live to talk about his feud with TommyInnit in even more detail.
Dream took a scattershot approach with his livestream and addressed a wide range of issues. He re-stated that his intention with sharing the meme on X wasn't to platform ableist hate speech, but to specifically criticize TommyInnit's fans. He also addressed the time that he DM'ed TommyInnit's mother amidst another feud in March 2024, explaining that since she was online and messaging people in his community, he thought it was fair to reach out to explain his issues with her son. He also addressed other recent rumors, shockingly admitting that some explicit images were once shared on the Dream SMP Discord, which allowed minors to join. However, he denied any personal involvement in this area.
How's TommyInnit been responding?
Some onlookers have noted that Dream's seemingly been digging himself into a deeper hole with his response to the current feud. However, TommyInnit seemed to have been enjoying the early stages of the latest fight. Before Dream could delete his offensive meme, TommyInnit shared a screenshot of it with the comment, "No f***ing way did I make Dream say the R slur again." Not long after that, Tommy made another post in which he joked that Dream only got involved because he'd mentioned Donald Trump.
After Dream's livestream — in which he publicly shared some of his old DMs to Tommy — TommyInnit's tone seemed to shift. On January 12, TommyInnit posted his own video response to the situation. In the video, TommyInnit condemned Dream's use of the R-slur, saying, "It's impossibly immature and reckless and sets such a s****y precedent to everyone. Shame on you, man." TommyInnit also criticized Dream for DM-ing his mother during their past feuds and made the claim that Dream and his friends are flagrantly sexist behind the scenes.
There's a very good chance that this feud isn't over yet. TommyInnit's rise to fame was tied to Dream's, so the two will always be connected in one way or another. Now everyone's just hoping that this connection won't lead us to hearing about even more uncomfy DMs or weird exchanges on the Dream SMP Discord server.
