Apex Legends Will Soon Get An Updated Firing Range

If you've ever wished you could test weapons and abilities more effectively in Apex Legends, that wish is about to come true. On a recent developer stream, several of the folks from Respawn Entertainment talked about some new updates that'll be making their way to the game in the weeks ahead.

One of those updates is an improved firing range.

With the number of characters in the game now, as well as each character having their own various abilities and ultimates, it's become even more important for players to have a way to test their builds. Add the fact that Apex Legends keeps adding new weapons, as well, and you can start to see why such an update might be necessary.

The game's current training mode is a nice primer for those who've never played Apex Legends before. But it's not meant to be anything more than a small taste of the experience. As soon as players know how to shoot, they're expected to start playing online against others.

With the updated firing range, the hope is that players will be able to see how certain guns fare in terms of the damage they can deal, and how a character's abilities might help round out a player's build. And players will be able to figure that out with friends, too, as the upgraded range will now support having multiple characters present at once. Having a better feel for abilities and guns will make players more ready to take on opponents in Apex's various online modes.

Now all we have to do is wait for it.

Yes, sadly, there's no timetable for when the new firing range will be making its way into Apex Legends, though Respawn states that it's "coming soon."  Should we learn more about when to expect the firing range in the game, we'll be sure to fill you in.
