xQc Faces Disturbing New Allegations And Lawsuit From Adept

Adept and xQc have had one of the ugliest breakups in streamer history, and it looks once more like they could be heading to court. Adept had just filed a lawsuit in California, revealing even more about the disturbing allegations she's made against xQc. Anyone who's been following Adept's streaming career is probably well-aware of her long term relationship with xQc by now. The pair originally told viewers that they were roommates, but it became clear over time that they were in a serious relationship. Even after xQc famously kissed Adept on camera, fans could hardly keep track of their on-again, off-again relationship — that is, until 2023, when some alleged divorce papers revealed that the couple had been common-law married and their breakup had been anything but amicable.

Things have gotten even messier since then. Adept filed a Protective Order against xQc in June 2023, claiming that he had been physically and sexually abusive toward her. She sued xQc in Texas, but that case was dismissed in September 2024. Adept's new lawsuit is similar to the one she filed in Texas, but it includes even more disturbing allegations of abuse from xQc, who already seems to be preparing himself for a potentially long legal battle.

Adept claims xQc abused and defamed her

xQc's regular viewers actually knew that this lawsuit was coming ahead of time. On October 20, xQc told viewers on stream, "Apparently I'm getting sued again. It's the exact same thing, the exact thing copy/paste, but in California instead." He also claimed that Adept had asked for a $10 million settlement. xQc was right that Adept's California suit had a lot of overlap with the case that was dismissed in Texas, but some new elements have come to light in a new video from YouTuber Henry Resilient.

Henry Resilient has built his brand on doing exhaustive examinations of lawsuits (usually involving streamers), and he's naturally covered the ongoing legal battle between xQc and Adept several times. He got his hands on the new California lawsuit and dug through the claims in a video posted on October 24. The new suit claims that xQc physically and sexually assaulted Adept, which prompted her to seek the aforementioned Protective Order. The suit also claims that xQc used his massive popularity and sizable fanbase to essentially lead a hate campaign against Adept as part of his abusive behavior. Specific videos posted to the xQc Clips YouTube account are cited as examples of xQc using his broad platform to make over the top and defamatory statements about Adept.

Adept is suing xQc for $245,000 dollars, plus punitive damages for those allegedly defamatory statements and legal fees. The total would come to over $1 million if Adept wins the case.

xQc is ready for court

xQc has vehemently denied Adept's allegations, and it seems like he's more than willing to continue the legal battle indefinitely. In his October 20 stream, xQc told his fans, "I could dodge all of it by just f***ing settling, but I said this before, and I'll say it again: I do not care." After having the case dismissed in Texas, xQc said that he felt confident the same thing would happen with the new lawsuit. When the filing was made public on October 24, xQc repeated his sentiment about not caring who talks about it.

xQc has instructed his Discord mods to let fans post whatever they want about the lawsuit, explaining, "I am under no obligation to keep quiet about any of this either." This could mean that xQc will be speaking out even more about his relationship with Adept in the coming months. Whatever the case, it's safe to assume that this matter is far from over.
