How Long Does It Take To Beat Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince?
Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince launches today on just about every platform imaginable, which means fans of the series can now dive in and see what this latest entry has to offer. Some say this is the most ambitious Trine game to date, and, perhaps, also the longest. Is that true? How long does it take to beat Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince?
Let's find out.
We have two reported completion times from outlets that reviewed Trine 4 prior to its release. Eurogamer estimated it would take most gamers between 10 and 15 hours to complete the campaign in Trine 4 (which is a rather large window, to be honest). Fortunately, PC Gamer honed in on a number specific to that site's experience, stating the story mode took 12 hours to finish.
On average, it should take somewhere between 12 and 13 hours to beat Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince.
Now, where does that sit in relation to past Trine titles? According to HowLongtoBeat.com, the original Trine was a six hour experience. Trine 2 clocked in at eight hours for most players. And the third game in the series, Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, was actually the shortest Trine game at 5 hours in length. This definitely backs up what many reviewers were saying: that Trine 4 is the longest effort put forth by the team at Frozenbyte in the franchise's ten year history.
It'll be up to you, though, to determine if the game is actually good enough to warrant that extra play time. The reviews we've seen so far have been fairly average, so you might want to check in with a critic you trust to see what they have to say about Trine 4 before you commit your hard-earned money to it.
Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is available today on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
