This Is The Best Way To Breed Villagers In Minecraft

There's nothing worse than finding the perfect village in Minecraft Survival mode, only to have the entire population wiped out by a raid. When this happens, it can be tempting to abandon the neighborhood and search for another town to live in. But what if you'd finally found the ideal village? If you want to stay in your blocky utopia, it is possible to repopulate the area, but some methods take longer than others.

This is the best way to breed villagers in Minecraft.

The first thing to keep in mind is the fact that villagers will only breed if there are enough beds for the children. If you have 2 villagers and 2 beds, they won't be willing to make any baby villagers because they'll have nowhere to sleep. So make sure you've crafted more than enough beds for everyone in the village before you try to grow the population.

The next thing to remember is that a well-fed villager is a happy villager. Villagers who are starving won't breed. For not being smart enough to speak, the villagers are actually very economically conscious. If there aren't enough resources to go around, they won't breed. This means you'll need to give a villager at least one of the following: 3 bread, 12 potatoes, 12 carrots, or 12 beet roots. If a villager has one of these in their inventory, they'll be willing to breed.

While these are the minimum requirements for growing your village population, it's also helpful to have a lot of doors in your village. Just like the issue with beds, the villagers will feel much more comfortable with populating the village if there are an abundance of doors.

And lastly, trading with the villagers will make them more willing to populate the village. Maybe it's another example of economic awareness, but making trades will help you grow your population faster.

That's all there is to it! Stick to these basic tenants and you'll quickly be able to breed villagers and restore your Minecraft village to its former glory.
