MrBeast's Viewership Is Rapidly Dropping Amid Scandals

The following article contains allegations of grooming and sexual assault.

MrBeast and his crew have been on the receiving end of a great deal of criticism in recent months, and it's already taking a huge toll on the YouTuber's brand. Last month, MrBeast fired longtime friend and collaborator Ava Kris Tyson when disturbing grooming and sexual assault allegations were leveled at her. MrBeast hired a third-party team to investigate the accusations, but quickly found that this was just the first of multiple scandals about to break. In the weeks that followed, MrBeast has been accused of faking the results of his videos, mistreating contestants on his "Beast Games" TV show, knowingly employing a registered sex offender on his channel, and encouraging team members to stop speaking out about Ava Tyson. The controversies have continued to pile up, and it seems like enough is enough for a significant number of MrBeast's subscribers.

According to data culled from ViewStats, MrBeast has received 1.9 billion views in the last 28 days on his main YouTube channel. While that's definitely still an impressive sum, it's worth noting that this number marks a dramatic decrease of approximately 166 million views. The channel also took a hit when it comes to new subscribers, only bringing in six million new subs, a drop of approximately 11 million subscribers when compared to the previous 28-day period. Meanwhile, his MrBeast Gaming channel was down 10.36 million views in the last 28 days and brought in 200 thousand fewer new subscribers. It's worth noting that this channel has not received a new upload in roughly a year, so it's clearly not a major part of the overall brand as it exists today, and yet people are still leaving in droves.

Again, we're talking about the most-subscribed creator on YouTube, so he's still outpacing his competition in many respects. However, these statistics make it very clear that MrBeast's main channel has been hemorrhaging fans since this period of unrest began. Unfortunately for the fans who are still hanging around, it's unclear when this difficult period might come to a close.

MrBeast remains silent as his brand takes hit after hit

MrBeast's continued silence amidst the multiple scandals has only made onlookers more curious. The replies to his older videos and social media posts are full of viewers and fellow content creators asking when or if he is going to weigh in on the mounting allegations. Even the many subscribers who have stood by him are growing weary of MrBeast's lack of a public response. Not helping matters are continued accusations claiming that MrBeast's team is deleting critical comments from his YouTube channel, including fans asking questions about Ava Kris Tyson.

MrBeast has not made an official statement regarding Ava Kris Tyson since his initial tweet announcing the third-party investigation, and the only response to the allegations against the "Beast Games" production team has come from one of MrBeast's representatives, and seemingly not from him directly. According to leaked messages from Ava Kris Tyson's partner, a fellow content creator called Eret, MrBeast and his team are determined to stay tight-lipped about these various scandals until the conclusion of the investigation, whenever that may be.

In the meantime, it seems MrBeast is determined to operate as usual. While his fans wait for updates with bated breath, the content creator quietly launched a new toyline last week and is continuing to work on his upcoming Amazon Prime TV series. It remains unclear how far his viewership might continue to fall before all is said and done. However, considering how important it was to MrBeast for his channel to break those subscriber records, it's very likely that the YouTuber will want to make moves to clear up these various scandals before he loses too much more of his viewership.
