New GTA 6 Trailer Theory Is Weirdly Plausible
There's a new "GTA 6" fan theory that we desperately hope is true, because it would mean that the next "Grand Theft Auto 6" trailer is right around the corner. Rockstar Games has a long history of teasing fans with tiny hidden details and secret in-game cyphers, and some "GTA 5" players think they've spotted the developer's newest sly move. This time, the proof is in the pizza. More specifically, fans are formulating a theory based on a trailer promoting a new set of pizza delivery missions in "GTA Online."
Unless you live and breathe for "GTA" easter eggs, you'll probably miss the detail that has some fans freaking out. It arrives at the very beginning of the trailer, when we see a shot of the license plate on the back of the pizza deliverer's bike. The plate reads "PIZZ4," and in the upper corner, you can just barely make out the letters "OCT." Obviously, some fans surmise that this half-second-long shot must be a secret message from Rockstar. Some naysayers might point out that license plates in "GTA Online" have long featured the letters OCT and argue that this all means nothing, but it's worth remembering that the studio has very much been down this road before.
We see you, Rockstar
When it comes to "GTA Online" specifically, Rockstar has made a habit of sneaking in little details that give us hints about "GTA 6." In June 2023, Rockstar released the San Andreas Mercenaries update for "GTA Online," which included an unlockable shirt that featured a bizarre string of numbers. Fans believe this was a code that revealed the release date for the "GTA 6" trailer months ahead of time.
More recently, Rockstar snuck what appears to be an item from "GTA 6" into another "GTA Online" update. The developer is clearly leveraging the massive playerbase of "GTA Online" to build even more hype for its upcoming game — as if the world could get any more excited for "GTA 6." That's why this pizza delivery trailer gives us pause. As silly as the theory might seem to the uninitiated, Rockstar went out of its way to focus the camera on the scooter's license plate, so hardcore easter egg hunters are positive they're on the right track. We know that the "GTA 6" release window is still painfully far off, but maybe the wait will be made more bearable by a steady stream of secret codes and messages from Rockstar.
