Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Reveals Enterprising Ventrue Clan

Paradox Interactive has unveiled the latest playable clan for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

Known as the Clan of Kings, the ambitious Ventrue have shaped society — human and vampire alike — for centuries. Seattle is just another gem in their crown. Taking advantage of the many industrial booms it has experienced, the Ventrue clan has been there since the city's founding. They now control many of Seattle's billion dollar corporations, using their experience and savvy to dominate the local marketplace.

Lions among sheep, the Ventrue believe their blood gives them the right to rule. "The misconception among the herd is that power has been stolen from them," begins the reveal trailer. "But when only you carry in your blood centuries of honor and authority your power over the crowd will rain down like a blessing. A gift. I don't expect gratitude but I do demand loyalty."

Players who join the Ventrue clan gain access to two Disciplines: Dominate and Fortitude. Their signature Discipline, Dominate grants the Ventrue power over other people. At lower levels, this means placing them into a hypnotic trance, making the NPC oblivious to their surroundings. As this power grows, they can expand their control over a mesmerized NPC and issue them basic commands. 

Fortitude, as the name implies, imparts enhanced physical resilience. Ventrue who choose this Discipline can enter a defensive stance that deflects attacks and heals their wounds for a brief amount of time. More powerful Fortitude users can turn their skin to stone, eventually becoming impervious to attacks when the ability is active.

The sequel to the 2004 cult-classic Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, Bloodlines 2 will release in Q1 2020. In the game, players will take on the role of a new vampire caught at the center of an investigation into the Mass Embrace, the unsanctioned turning of several humans into vampires.
