Warhammer: Chaosbane Introduces Elessa The Wood Elf
Warhammer: Chaosbane's final reveal trailer introduces players to Elessa the Wood Elf Waywatcher. Elessa distinguished herself through her ranged combat prowess, serving as a scout in the army of Magnus the Pious. With unparalleled hunting ability and bow mastery, she makes for a swift and dangerous foe.
While a ranged elf character isn't a groundbreaking concept, the Waywatcher still has a lot to offer. According the video, basic attacks recharge Elessa's energy gauge which she then uses to unleash powerful abilities. From sapping poisons to summoning dryad allies, Elessa is a versatile character who can contribute to any scenario. Though more vulnerable than her melee counterparts, she can tumble and dodge her way out of hairy situations. She shines in team fights, debilitating and confusing enemies so her allies can close and finish them off.
Before Elessa, the Warhammer: Chaosbane team unveiled the game's three other playable characters. Conrad Vollen, a Captain of the Empire, is a close combat specialist, capable of single-handedly taking on hordes of enemies. Elontir, a High Elf Mage and war veteran, deals in devastating area of effect attacks, using the elements to control the battlefield. Finally, Bragi Axebiter, a Dwarf Slayer, hunts powerful foes, aided by the spirits of his ancestors.
Warhammer: Chaosbane, a new hack-and-slash RPG set in the Warhammer universe, enters the second phase of its private beta on April 18. The story picks up after the war between the Empire and the tribes of the Northern Wastes. Though Magnus the Pious defeated their leader, the Everchosen, the forces of chaos have started to rally once more, threatening to plunge the world back into darkness and turmoil.
The Standard Edition of Chaosbane releases for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 4 with the Digital Deluxe and Magnus Editions launching on May 31.
