GTA 6 Fan Theory Points To An Unknown Actress For Lucia
"Grand Theft Auto 6" is set to feature at least two lead characters, with early rumors suggesting that the pair have a relationship reminiscent of real-life bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde. The first trailer for "GTA 6" only reinforced these rumblings, giving us the first compelling exchanges of dialogue between Lucia and her partner. In the weeks since the trailer premiered, fans have been searching even harder to figure out who might be playing these characters. There are a few theories about the stars of "GTA 6," but a new contender for the role of Lucia has emerged for internet sleuths: Manni L. Perez.
Though Manni L. Perez is not a household name (yet), she has firmly established herself in the entertainment industry and has been working in film and TV for quite some time. Some of her credits include roles in "Jessica Jones," "Fire Island," and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," the latter of which earned her an Imagen Award. Also on her resume — much to the excitement of "GTA" fans — is a credited voice as a clubber 2013's "Grand Theft Auto 5." It's not unheard of for a "GTA" lead to get their start in the series by playing smaller background characters, as Shawn Fonteno filled a similar role in "San Andreas" before voicing Franklin in "GTA 5." A large subsection of fans think Perez may have followed a similar route and is now playing Lucia in the most anticipated game of all time.
The case for Manni Perez as Lucia
The reasons for suspecting Perez as Lucia aren't just due to her strong physical resemblance to the character (though that's definitely a factor). Fans have taken to comparing her voice in film and interviews with the brief clips of audio we have featuring the "GTA 6" character. One interview in particular has been referred to as a smoking gun for the "GTA" community: When asked point-blank about her possible involvement in the next "Grand Theft Auto" game, Perez briefly looks a bit stressed, but says that she's done a few mystery projects that only had codenames. Most pointedly, she tells her interviewers, "Sorry, man." A number of fans have noted that this response sounds incredibly similar to a scene from the "GTA 6" footage that leaked in 2022.
Content creator and Rockstar devotee Dyllie also dug up an older interview in which Perez discussed her burgeoning career in voice-acting and mo-cap. The fact that this clip is a few years old and nothing in her recent resume seems to reflect that type of work has fans even more positive that there's a tight lid being kept on whatever she filmed.

In the days since this newest casting rumor began circulating, overzealous fans have apparently taken to blowing up Manni Perez's notifications on social media. As of this writing, the actress has deleted nearly every post on her Instagram account and changed her settings so strangers can no longer tag her in posts. She has not yet released any kind of official statement to distance herself from "GTA 6." The general theory seems to be, according to Dyllie, "She's keeping quiet because Rockstar is forcing her to." The speculation surrounding Jason and Lucia's voice actors will no doubt continue until Rockstar finally releases an official cast list.
