Far Cry 5 Is Insanely Discounted At GameStop
Far Cry 5 is a little less than ten months old, but that doesn't mean you can't save substantially on it. GameStop is currently selling the game for $15 — an outright steal for Ubisoft's latest open-world first-person shooter.
So why is it you should hop on this Far Cry 5 deal now, rather than wait? It'll only get cheaper over time, after all. The answer is Far Cry: New Dawn.
We won't get too deep into spoilers, here, but the story in Far Cry: New Dawn is very much a continuation of what happened in Far Cry 5. There's a chance you could get by in New Dawn without having touched the game that came before it. But odds are, you'll be better served by having played Far Cry 5 first, as the two games not only share story elements, but gameplay elements, as well.
And no pressure, but Far Cry: New Dawn's release is less than a month away. If you want to knock out 5 before you check out New Dawn, you only have until Feb. 15 before walkthroughs and story spoilers start hitting the web. Unless you want to stop visiting video game websites, and want to completely separate yourself from social media, you'll want to get a jump on New Dawn day and date.
For $15, you'll certainly be getting your money's worth with Far Cry 5. IGN called it "another wide-open playground with all the necessary ingredients for causing a real ruckus," and praised the game's ability to "tell a serious story with respectable characters and a powerful ending." If nothing else, it's an excuse to explore rural Montana, shoot some guns, drive some vehicles, and befriend some animals along the way.
There's no word yet on how long GameStop's discount will remain active. So if you've been meaning to give Far Cry 5 a go, there's no better time than now to take the leap.
