Octopath Traveler 2: Where To Find Blessing In Disguise (And Why You Need It)
"Octopath Traveler 2" has won praise from critics for the increased strategic depth it brings to combat with SVG's review noting the fun of a greater challenge this time around, especially with the hardest bosses. With this new challenge, players will need to take advantage of every item they can get their hands on and craft character builds to fully maximize their potential. One item, in particular, that shouldn't be ignored is the "Octopath Traveler 2" Blessing in Disguise accessory. It may not be clear at first just what this item does, but — once players understand it — they'll find that it truly lives up to its name.
When equipped, Blessing in Disguise will turn all negative stats on other equipped items into positive stats. As such, this accessory can be paired with any items that have negative drawbacks to reverse those penalties and make those items even better. In particular, the "Octopath Traveler 2" Blessing in Disguise seems to have been designed specifically for use with the Rosary of Redemption, which, on its own, imposes a 60-point penalty for Physical Attack and Critical. With Blessing in Disguise, however, this becomes a 60-point bonus to these stats.
Any player who has found the Rosary of Redemption or any other equipment that adds penalties will absolutely want to have Blessing in Disguise. Fortunately, acquiring it isn't too difficult if one knows where to look.
Two Blessing in Disguise accessories are currently confirmed
Currently, there are two confirmed Blessing in Disguise accessories in "Octopath Traveler 2," and each can be found in a chest in a different location in the world.
The first can be found in a red chest in the Seat of the Water Sprite Dungeon. This dungeon, located in the center of the Crestlands, has a Danger Level of 26 and no boss to fight, so players shouldn't have too hard of a time running it fairly early. After entering the Seat of the Water Sprite, players should head up the stairs and turn right when they see falling water. From there, they simply need to keep going in that direction until they see a ladder leading down. At the bottom of the ladder will be the chest and the Blessing in Disguise.
Meanwhile, the second Blessing in Disguise can be found in the Lost Isle in the Sundering Sea. To reach this Danger Level 45 dungeon, players need to sail through the whirlpool in the Sundering Sea and then head east. After fighting their way past a sea monster, they'll reach the Lost Isle and find a labyrinth. Fighting through to the southwest of the maze will bring them to another red chest and the second Blessing in Disguise.
With both Blessings in hand, a player should give one each to two different characters who are equipped with any items with negative traits (especially the Rosary of Redemption) to make the most of their limited supply.
