Starfield Finally Has A New Release Date
"Starfield" is poised to be one of the most ambitious games in the history of Bethesda Softworks. Directed by studio head Todd Howard, the game has frequently been described as "'Skyrim' in space," giving fans a bit of an idea of the title's sheer scope. First announced back in 2018, the game has been delayed internally on numerous occasions — but no more. A new announcement video dropped today that has stamped the game once and for all with a solid release date: September 6, 2023.
In the new clip, following brief footage of a spaceship and the release date itself, Todd Howard explains when fans can expect to see more of Bethesda's latest RPG. "This June, we're going to bring you into the studio and give you a deep dive in the game at our 'Starfield' direct," Howard says, revealing that the company will be streaming a fresh look at the game on June 11. He adds, "There's so much that we still have to show you. The game has many of the hallmarks that you'd expect from us, but it's also a very unique experience."
The video closes with Todd Howard thanking fans for their patience and assuring gamers that "Starfield" is well worth the wait. Judging from the clip, which shows off a bit of the studio, the team at Bethesda appears to be quite deep in the QA portion of development. Hopefully, that means fans will get to see a polished experience when the "Starfield" direct airs this June — and when the full game finally comes in for a landing in September.
