God Of War Ragnarok: How To Defeat The Ormr At Dragon Beach
Fans hoping for answers to some of the biggest unanswered questions after "God of War: Ragnarok" may be disappointed to learn that the game has no DLC plans. Sad as that may be, beating "God of War: Ragnarok" could take players well over 40 hours — especially if players are doing their best to hunt down each one of the game's many collectibles, such as the barking lizards known as Ormr.
Those that have played Kratos' latest outing are likely familiar with these taunting little reptiles and the fact that players cannot kill them from the front. An Ormr rapidly digs to safety from any attack it sees coming, so taking one down requires some light puzzle-solving to find a way behind the beasties. Going out of one's way is worth the effort, as Ormr will drop precious crafting materials upon death. Of course, some of them are easier to get behind than others, and one of the less obvious Ormr to extinguish can be found on Dragon Beach within the realm of Svartalfheim.
Climbing above the Ormr reveals the perfect killing angle
One needn't go out of their way to find Dragon Beach. The game's story eventually leads to the location shortly after acquiring the Draupnir Spear. As players continue from this point, they'll ultimately be forced to journey to the beach to progress.
Setting foot upon the sand prompts a group of enemies to attack Kratos and company, and players must eliminate these foes before players can silence the Ormr that has made itself at home on the beach's northern end. Once the fighting is over, players will notice that this Ormr is seemingly impossible to get behind. However, there is a solution. Directly to the right of the critter, players will find a chain dangling from the wooden structure. Climbing up this chain and turning to look at the Ormr reveals a portion of the wood has weathered away. Unluckily for the Ormr, the weathered platform perfectly frames a killing blow.
The haul for this particular Ormr is four shattered runes, one rawhide, one slag deposit, and one forged iron — all valuable items for crafting and improving one's gear. If, for any reason, players don't climb back down to acquire this loot, it's worth remembering that anything players don't pick up will be made available in the large chests located at any one of the dwarven forges scattered throughout the game. Handy!
