Pokémon Scarlet And Violet: Where To Find Tinkatink
Early reactions to "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet" all said the same thing: it's buggy and barely chugs along on the Nintendo Switch, but it still shakes up the tried and true formula enough to be fun for veterans and newcomers alike. Sure, maybe NPCs more than five feet away from the player move at 5 FPS and there are glitches galore with the physics engine, but the game has its cute moments, tons of fun new features, and — best of all — a fresh roster of unique Pokémon to catch and log in your Pokedex.
You'll find some of the new Pokémon, like Fidough and Maschiff, wandering in droves around the main paths. Others are more rare and harder to encounter — Tinkatink, a Fairy and Steel type Pokémon, is one such seldom seen newcomer. With a 100% female gender ratio and three evolutionary stages, Tinkatink is a must-have for Fairy-type fans looking for a powerful dual-type combo. Here's a rundown on how and where to find this bold pink potential powerhouse Pokémon in "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet."
Search out the ruins in the South Province
For better or worse, "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet" has done away with random and surprise encounters entirely. Pokémon hunting in this generation requires the player to pay close attention to the details listed in the Habitat section of any particular Pokémon's Pokédex entry to find not only its general spawning areas, but what to watch out for when actually searching the regions it calls home.
Tinkatink's entry says that it "Lives among ruins" and is "Rarely seen," though the latter is only half true. While you won't ever see a Tinkatink outside of any ruins, you're sure to find a Tinkatink wandering around the crumbling stone walls so long as you head to one of the ruined sites inside the highlighted habitats. This generally covers most of the ruins you'll be able to access after leaving Mesagoza after the tutorial, but the earliest you can come across is in Area Two of the South Province on the plateau northeast of Cortondo city. It might be helpful to pick a Tinkatink up before challenging the Cortondo gym, as it has an excellent ¼ resistance to Bug-type attacks.
Tinkatink can also feature in 2-Star Tera Raids of any type (via Serebii.net). Make sure to peek in on any Tera Raids you see just in case you can nab one with an advantageous Tera Type matchup.
