MultiVersus Confirms The Next Character And Stage For Season 2

"MultiVersus" has officially kicked off its second season, bringing new content to the free-to-play platform fighter. While the only new pieces of content available at the start of Season 2 are a new battle pass and the brand new item shop, "MultiVersus" developer Player First Games has already confirmed some of the content making its way into the game later in the season.

In a blog post, Player First Games confirmed that one of the new characters coming to "MultiVersus" is the "Looney Tunes" alien, Marvin the Martian. The blog post doesn't say too much about Marvin the Martian, except that he is coming equipped with his "Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator," so he will likely be a projectile based character. The post also does not specify that Marvin the Martian will be the next character to join the roster. This lines up with the character roll out of Season 1, which saw the announcement of Stripe and Black Adam at the start of the season, but other surprise characters, like Gizmo, were released before them.

Player First Games also announced a new stage coming to "MultiVersus" soon, inspired by "Game of Thrones." The stage doesn't have a name yet, but the image shown is located in the Iron Throne room and the post teases that it will have the types of pitfalls and traps people expect from that universe. It will also feature a version of the "Game of Thrones" theme that changes dynamically based on the match. The new level is exciting, but fans are more concerned about new characters entering the meta.

While Player First Games didn't fully break down Marvin the Martian's kit, dataminers were able to find more info.

Marvin the Martian's leaked moveset

A dataminer on Twitter named Laisul was able to pull text from the games files detailing Marvin the Martian's moveset, which seem to point to him being projectile based and possibly a Mage class character. Some of his moves include creating a large bubble, which can reflect enemy projectiles and temporarily suspend friendly projectiles. Other abilities mention his blaster and his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, pointing to several projectile-based attacks.

Marvin the Martian does have a few melee attacks mixed in there as well. While leakers and dataminers have had a solid track record with "MultiVersus” characters, this moveset might not be completely accurate when compared to the final product, so take it with a grain of salt until Player First Games makes an official announcement. No date has been given for Marvin the Martian or the "Game of Thrones" map joining "MultiVersus," but Season 2 is live now.
