God Of War: Ragnarok's Star Studded Promo Has Fans Begging For Skins

The release date of "God of War Ragnarok" is rapidly approaching. "God of War Ragnarok" is hitting shelves on November 9, with the story picking up where "God of War" 2018 left off. In "God of War Ragnarok," Kratos will lift his Leviathan Axe and iconic Blades of Chaos once again alongside his son Atreus as they attempt to forestall Ragnarok. Ragnarok is the world-ending mythological event that spells the end for all Norse gods, so it will be interesting to see how Kratos handles it.

Although early reactions to "God of War Ragnarok" complain that there were not enough changes to the gameplay in the sequel, it will take much more to sway many longtime "God of War" fans from picking up the game on release. However, gamers planning on playing "God of War Ragnarok" should be wary about checking social media, as gamers have been posting leaked story spoilers.

With the hype building for "God of War Ragnarok," so is the marketing campaign. As a result, players got treated to a hilarious "God of War Ragnarok" ad featuring some familiar faces that fans want to see in the game itself.

Fans want celebrity Kratos skins

With "God of War Ragnarok" only days out from release, PlayStation uploaded a promotional live-action TV spot about parenting to YouTube. In the video, comedian Ben Stiller is seen in full Kratos gear and makeup, accompanied by his son. Joining Stiller is basketball legend Lebron James and his son, Bronny, in addition to John Travolta and his daughter. In a blog post, PlayStation argued, "Whether you're a celebrity or the god of war, parenting is hard work," and spent the entire video showcasing just that. The hilarious video has the three celebrities and their kids sitting in a circle, discussing the difficulties of parenting and joking that the struggles they go through as fathers are the same as that of Kratos.

But the ad had another effect. It had gamers begging for some celebrity skins. While many gamers praised the clever marketing, some fans, such as champsammy13, wanted PlayStation to take things one step further and put a Ben Stiller Kratos skin in the game. In the replies, one user joked that players will mod one once the game is released on PC. In addition, many expressed that they would love to see the live-action Kratos in the upcoming "God of War" Amazon show be played by Ben Stiller.
