How Long Does It Take To Beat A Plague Tale: Requiem?
Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studios' highly anticipated "A Plague Tale: Requiem" has arrived, and as reviews begin to pour in, many are wondering how it stacks up compared to the original. "A Plague Tale: Requiem" continues the narrative-first style of the previous game, "A Plague Tale: Innocence," and raises the bar even higher for visual and sound design in video games. It's not known whether the sequel will tie into the upcoming "A Plague Tale" TV series, but we do know that Amicia, Hugo, Beatrice, and Lucas will return from the first game. But the two games aren't the same in a few ways, such as the time it takes to beat each one.
According to howlongtobeat.com, a site that tracks user-submitted data, "A Plague Tale: Innocence" can take anywhere from about 10 to 16 hours to complete, depending on if one goes for 100% completion or not. It's too early for proper data to be available on howlongtobeat for "A Plague Tale: Requiem," but according to MP1ST, lead designer Kevin Pinson told PLAY Magazine it can take anywhere from 15 to 18 hours to complete. Several sites have published reviews for "A Plague Tale: Requiem," and many of these mention how long the sequel took to beat – for the most part, Pinson's estimate appears to be accurate.
It takes anywhere from 15 to 20 hours to beat A Plague Tale: Requiem
An estimate of around 15 to 18 hours to beat "A Plague Tale: Requiem" is a significant increase from the original, but it doesn't mean the game will be full of padding. When talking to PLAY Magazine, Pinson spoke positively of Focus Entertainment for its flexibility in how long "A Plague Tale: Requiem" should be. "It's about pacing, there's no filler, there's no trying to make it longer because we needed to," Pinson said. "... so we're not aiming for a specific amount of hours."
According to Bogdan Robert Mateș, who reviewed the game for Game Watcher, "A Plague Tale: Requiem" takes about 18 to 20 hours to finish. However, God is a Geek reviewer Chris Hyde said the game only takes 14 to 18 hours. For IGN, Travis Northup didn't give an exact time to beat, but he said it was "exhausting to have your dreams crushed for 20 hours." For the most part, there aren't any outliers from that general range, and from all we know about "A Plague Tale: Requiem" so far it looks like it'll be a much longer experience than the first game.
