Street Fighter 6: How To Get Into The Closed Beta
The latest entry in the venerable "Street Fighter" series is finally on the way with the upcoming release of "Street Fighter 6." Fans are eager to get their hands on the sequel that's expected to change the series, but no release date has been announced yet. However, we do know the game is slated to launch in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. While gamers will have to wait until sometime next year to play the full game, a lucky few will get to check out "Street Fighter 6" while it's still in development, thanks to a closed beta beginning in October. Capcom revealed the beta with a new trailer that's light on fighting but heavy on great music, dancing, and other exciting details.
The beta will run from October 7 to October 10 and feature cross-play between PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. While not all game modes will be available, testers will be able to try out ranked and casual matches, Battle Hub matches, open tournament, Extreme Battle, the Game Center, and training mode. For those interested in signing up for a chance to get into this closed beta, the process is quite simple.
Create a Capcom ID and sign up
To sign up for a chance to get into the beta, hopeful players will need to head to the beta's website. From there, they'll find a button that will take them to the signup page. If they haven't already, they'll be prompted to create a Capcom account which involves the familiar procedure of entering a birthday and email and then confirming said email.
Once that's out of the way, the page leads to the beta application. Beta testers are required to agree to the terms of service and privacy policy, as well as indicate which platform they would like to play the game on. Currently, the closed beta is only available on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam so PS4 users are, unfortunately, out of luck for this round of beta tests.
After all, the application can be submitted to receive a confirmation message. Capcom explains that those lucky individuals who are selected will receive a notification by email and that selections will be announced after October 5. With everything completed, there's nothing left to do but sit back and hope for a sweet sneak preview at the future of "Street Fighter."
